ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) Filament
ABS is a foundational material in home 3D printing, often referred to as the "grandfather" of 3D printing filaments. For the best results, printing with ABS requires a heated bed and, ideally, an enclosed printing environment to ensure consistent temperature control and reduce warping.
Heat Resistance
ABS stands out for its excellent resistance to heat, beginning to soften at around 105ºC. This makes it particularly suitable for 3D printed objects intended for outdoor use or applications exposed to higher temperatures, where durability is key.
Printing Considerations:
A common challenge with ABS is the strong odor it emits during printing. While many users are unaffected, some may find it bothersome, especially in confined or poorly ventilated spaces. We recommend printing in a well-ventilated room to maintain air quality.
Recommended Settings
- Nozzle Temperature: 190-260℃
- Bed Temperature: 80-100℃
ABS filament is a reliable and durable choice, especially for projects that require heat resistance and toughness. Its long-standing reputation makes it a go-to material for a variety of demanding applications.
