Performance Amide 6,6 High Temperature Carbon Fiber

Proudly Made in Canada by 3D Printing Canada

Designed for demanding industrial and engineering applications, Performance Amide 6,6 High Temperature Carbon Fiber is a high-performance nylon filament engineered for parts operating in extreme environments. This material is purpose-built for high-stress applications where ambient temperatures can reach up to 135C, while maintaining excellent mechanical performance.

With a functional temperature range of -45C to 135C, this filament delivers outstanding durability, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance without compromise. It is halogen-free and formulated using a food-safe base resin, making it suitable for a wide range of professional use cases.

Engineering-Grade Strength & Stability

Performance Amide 6,6 High Temperature Carbon Fiber is an advanced nylon 6,6 composite reinforced with micro carbon fibers. This reinforcement increases stiffness, tensile strength, and dimensional stability while retaining nylons inherent toughness. The result is a filament capable of producing rigid, impact-resistant parts with excellent surface quality and long-term reliability.

Ideal Applications

  • High-temperature mechanical components
  • Structural and load-bearing parts
  • Impact-resistant housings and enclosures
  • Low-friction, wear-resistant components
  • Industrial jigs, fixtures, and tooling

Thanks to its low coefficient of friction, chemical resistance, and mechanical stability, Performance Amide 6,6 is well suited for demanding industrial environments where standard nylons fall short.

Annealing (Optional Post-Processing)

Printed parts can be annealed to further enhance mechanical and thermal properties:

  • Heat parts at 80130C for up to 30 minutes
  • Anneal using a controlled oven or hot water bath

Moisture Handling & Storage

Like all nylon-based filaments, this material is highly hygroscopic and must be kept dry. Exposure to moisture will negatively affect print quality.

  • Store sealed with desiccant when not in use
  • Dry filament at 85C for 46 hours if moisture is present
  • Drying before use is strongly recommended for best results

Available in 1 kg spools (2.2 lb) and compatible with Master Spool systems.
