Proudly produced in Canada, our Wood-Fill PLA brings the best of both worlds: the ease and printability of PLA combined with the organic look and feel of real wood fibres. Ideal for decorative prints, artistic projects, and functional parts that benefit from a timber-like appearance, this filament offers reliability, character and Canadian manufacturing pedigree.
✅ Why choose our Wood-Fill PLA?
- Proudly made in Canada — Supporting local manufacturing and offering shorter supply chains and consistent quality.
- Real wood content — Filament formulated with genuine wood fibres embedded in a high-quality PLA resin, giving prints a unique wood-grain texture and finish.
- Easy to print — Works on standard FDM/FFF machines just like regular PLA, with minimal extra setup required.
- Beautiful finish — Prints sand, paint, stain or varnish easily—perfect for architectural models, bespoke parts, props, decorative items or custom builds.
🎯 Ideal for:
- Decorative prints, props and artistic creations where a wood-look finish is desired.
- Architectural models, signage, exhibitions and hobby models needing a natural texture.
- Functional parts or custom pieces where aesthetics matter — not just function.
- Makers and designers who want to stand out with a material that looks and feels different from standard plastics.
🛠️ Recommended print settings
- Nozzle temperature: ~ 200-220 °C
- Bed temperature: ~ 50-60 °C (or unheated if your machine supports it)
- Cooling fan: 50-100% after the first layer
- Nozzle size: For best visual texture and wood-grain effect, a 0.5-0.6 mm nozzle is recommended.
- Layer height: 0.1-0.3 mm depending on the level of detail and texture you want.
📋 Filament specifications
- Diameter: 1.75 mm (± 0.05 mm)
- Weight: 1 kg spool
- Material: PLA base blended with real wood fibres
- Manufactured in Canada under strict quality-control standards
- Vacuum-sealed with desiccant to protect against moisture prior to use
💡 Tips for best performance & finish
- Use a larger nozzle (0.5–0.6 mm) to show the wood-grain texture more clearly.
- If you plan to sand, stain or varnish the final print, print with slightly thicker walls and gentle infill to ensure rigidity and a good substrate.
- Store the filament in a dry environment or vacuum bag with desiccant when not in use; wood-filled filaments can absorb moisture over time, affecting finish and bonding.
- On first layer, ensure bed is well-levelled and clean — good adhesion is the key to crisp texture and consistent wood look.
🧾 Summary
If you’re looking to elevate your prints with a material that looks and feels like wood but prints with the ease of PLA, our Canadian-made Wood-Fill PLA is the smart choice. Beautiful texture, local manufacturing, and reliable print performance — combine them all in one spool.
