It lets you modify a hotend for larger extrusion widths that support more substantial, stronger 3D prints while keeping the durability needed for abrasive materials.

Compared with brass nozzles, hardened steel offers better wear resistance for filaments that can quickly abrade softer nozzle materials. That makes this nozzle a practical utility option for regular printing with filled or specialty materials.

When to use a hardened steel nozzle for abrasive filaments

Hardened steel nozzles are well suited to abrasive filaments such as wood fills, glitter fills, and metal fills. Even glow-in-the-dark filament can abrade brass, so a hardened steel nozzle is a lower-cost alternative when a more premium wear-resistant nozzle is not required.

For abrasive filament printing, note that this nozzle is not suitable for use above 350°C. That limit is important when choosing materials and print temperatures for filled engineering filaments.

Use cases for a 0.8mm V6 nozzle

A 0.8mm nozzle is useful when the goal is faster material deposition, thicker extrusion lines, and stronger functional parts. It suits makers and small-batch users printing brackets, enclosures, workshop parts, jigs, and other models where durability matters more than very fine surface detail.
