ABS & ASA Filament

ABS and ASA are durable engineering-grade thermoplastics suited to 3D printed parts that need more than the basic mechanical properties of PLA. Both materials offer good impact resistance, heat resistance, and durability, making them useful for functional components, prototypes, enclosures, fixtures, and demanding everyday applications.

ABS Filament

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a widely used engineering thermoplastic known for its strength, impact resistance, heat resistance, and machinability. It is commonly used for functional prototypes, mechanical components, housings, brackets, tools, and other parts that need to withstand more demanding conditions than standard PLA.

ABS can be more sensitive to warping and thermal contraction during printing, making an enclosed or temperature-controlled build environment beneficial for larger parts.

ASA Filament

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) offers properties similar to ABS while providing significantly better UV and weather resistance. This makes ASA a strong choice for parts intended for outdoor use or applications exposed to sunlight and changing environmental conditions.

ASA is commonly used for outdoor components, automotive parts, enclosures, fixtures, prototypes, and functional products where long-term environmental durability matters.

ABS vs. ASA
