The Modix BIG-60 is a large-format 3D printer with a 600 × 600 × 660 mm build volume and a compact 906 mm-wide footprint. It is built for large-scale prototyping and short runs, with a self-assembly kit format, guided online manual, and live support.
Key features of the BIG-60
- GEN5 electronics: Duet 3 6HC, CAN bus print heads, Ethernet, a removable Wi-Fi dongle, a tool board with accelerometer, and a new touchscreen.
- Single Griffin extruder: Supports 1.75 mm filament, with dual head IDEX available as an option.
- Optional upgrades: Enclosure, casters, HIWIN linear rails, and IDEX configuration.
- Access and usability: Top lid access, front doors, 7-inch touchscreen, web access, and emergency stop button.
- Print monitoring: Clog detection can detect filament run-out, under extrusion, and hotend clogs.
Use cases for large parts and production work
The BIG-60 suits large-scale prototyping, short production runs, and complex geometries that benefit from multi-material and IDEX printing. The Griffin Ultra print head add-on can increase extrusion speed to up to 0.5 kg per hour and up to 6× faster output.
With the optional enclosure and modular add-ons, the Modix BIG-60 supports teams that need a configurable printer for bigger parts and changing production needs.
