Absolutely great! I did not realize that it has its own stm32 processor.
I like the fact that the DWIN folder can be edited to take advantage of certain BTT menu features. It also allows you to switch between the typical Marlin pixel GUI interface and the colour graphics menu designed by BTT. Both are very nice but switching is very useful in Marlin as they continue to develop new features that may not be 100% supported by the BTT GUI. Because of this it has two connection interfaces; one being the traditional ribbon cable and the second being a comm port between a BTT SKR E3 board. This allows the display to communicate to the printer just like OctoPrint.
Having said that, the BTT GUI has a really neat feature were you can send G and M codes through its terminal.
The RGB colour selection is nice both for the screen characters/background and the illuminated encoder knob. Found it’s forward facing printer reset button to be extremely helpful! I found a nice instructional on thingiverse (thing: 4177591) to install a bezel, cover and precise tool to locate and drill out a small reset hole.
Tip; make sure your Ender3’s plate used to mount the display on is absolutely perfectly flat corner to corner and along the edges. Mine was bent out of shape (intentionally) and this caused the metal to contact the touch screen which would then randomly generate touch commands.
Just buy it you won’t regret doing it! And while you’re at it get the BTT SKR mini E3 to take advantage of the options.
I love the tft35. So easy to use and let's you do a lot more than the stock display does.
fantastic service courteous and friendly at service counter wealth of information.
BigTreeTech TFT35 E3 V3.0 great display no problems hooking it up al said and done 15 minutes great unit
Every thing is great excellent help from your technical staff
I also purchased an SKR 1.4 board, and it works great with the screen. UPS was being a pain, and as always, 3dprintingcanada.com went above and beyond. Super stoked with everything :). A+
Working fine I have now a touchscreen UI still learning to use it once I discover all the features I'll post more pics
Love the 2 mode of operation, need to get used to it.
This is a replacement display on an Ender 5 with BTT SKR Mini E3 control board.
The only "fix" I needed is to add spacers on all 4 standoffs for mounting and drill a hole in the housing for the reset button(to make it accessible) that is below the panel surface.
Have plans to modify firmware later.
