ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) Filament

ABS is the original filament for home 3D printing, earning its reputation as the "grandfather" of 3D printing materials. To achieve the best results with ABS, a heated bed is essential, and an enclosed printing environment is recommended to maintain optimal temperature stability.

Heat Resistance

ABS is known for its high resistance to heat, with a softening point around 105ºC. This makes it an excellent choice for 3D printed objects intended for outdoor use or applications exposed to higher temperatures, as they tend to withstand environmental stress better than those made from other filaments.

Considerations

One of the challenges of printing with ABS is the strong odor it emits during the process. While many users are not bothered by it, some may find it unpleasant, especially in confined spaces. For a more comfortable experience, we recommend printing in a well-ventilated area.

Recommended Settings

  • Nozzle Temperature: 190-260℃
  • Bed Temperature: 80-100℃

ABS filament is a durable and reliable choice, particularly suited for projects that require heat resistance and toughness.
