Large-format pellet 3D printing with filament backup

The MAMA-1700 is a large-format FGF 3D printer built for production parts, fast R&D iterations, and high-throughput extrusion. It prints primarily with plastic granulates instead of filament, and it also includes a Griffin Ultra filament print head for detailed parts.

Material flexibility for production and prototyping

Using pellets lowers material cost to just a few dollars per kilogram and opens access to a wide range of polymers, including high-performance industrial compounds and recycled options. The MAMA-1700 also supports both pellet and filament workflows, giving owners access to different print approaches from the same machine.

  • Dual print technology: Pellet printing with the Dyze Design Pulsar and filament printing with the Modix Griffin Ultra.
  • High throughput: The pellet head reaches up to 500 mm³/s and up to 3 KG/hour, while the filament head reaches up to 160 mm³/s and up to 500 gram/hour.
  • Large build area: The 1.7 x 1.0 x 1.0 metre build volume supports large parts and larger-scale prototypes.
  • Reliable operation: Pellet runout and clog detection, plus filament runout and clog detection, help the printer pause for operator service when needed.
  • Installation flexibility: The printer is offered as a self-assembly kit, which can help with access in locations with narrow doors or basement workshops.

Use cases for industrial parts and large prototypes

The MAMA-1700 suits manufacturers, design studios, innovators, researchers, and businesses that need large parts, faster concept-to-production cycles, and broad material options. Sample applications include moulds, composite parts, furniture and decor, signage, and a 1.7 metre tall bookshelf printed with PLA pellets.

The printer is also suitable for testing custom polymer blends, recycled plastics, and functional additives directly in production workflows.
