PVA support removal for 3D prints with less waiting and less manual work

The UltiMaker PVA Removal Station is a post-processing system for dissolving PVA support material from 3D printed parts up to 4x faster. It is designed to make complex design workflows faster and easier by reducing operator involvement and helping finished parts move from printer to use more quickly.

Faster rapid prototyping with automated PVA dissolution

Rapid prototyping becomes more efficient when support removal takes less time. The UltiMaker PVA Removal Station speeds up a step that often slows down multi-material printing, helping parts become ready for inspection, testing, or use sooner.

Remove PVA up to 4x faster

Less time waiting for parts

High-speed water circulation driven by a magnetic rotor removes PVA much faster than motionless water. The circulating water also reaches hard-to-access cavities more effectively, helping post-processed parts become ready to use as soon as possible.

Reduce operator time with a low-effort workflow

Low effort. High productivity.

The UltiMaker PVA Removal Station requires only a few minutes of operator time per print and almost zero maintenance. The workflow is simple: press the start button, let the system run, and remove the print when the dissolving process is complete.

Key features for safer and easier support removal

Rotor-powered water circulation

The station offers 100 or 225 RPM circulation settings so the water movement can match the fragility of the printed part. Every two minutes, the rotor changes direction to push water evenly against the model.

Prints stay safe and submerged

A rinsing basket keeps the 3D printed part in place and fully submerged during dissolution. The basket then lifts up for cleaner draining and easier print removal.

Easy to monitor support removal progress

A transparent, illuminated container makes the PVA removal process easy to follow and helps show when a part is ready. A saturation indicator also shows when the water needs to be refreshed.

Use cases for the UltiMaker PVA Removal Station

  • Complex geometry post-processing: Helps dissolve PVA from internal channels, cavities, and detailed shapes that are harder to clean in still water.
  • Rapid prototyping workflows: Reduces time between printing and evaluating parts, making iterative design work more efficient.
  • Low-touch production support removal: Minimises manual intervention for repeatable post-processing with only a few minutes of operator time per print.
  • Handling delicate printed parts: Supports more careful processing with selectable 100 or 225 RPM circulation settings and a basket that keeps parts secure.

What does the UltiMaker PVA Removal Station do?

The UltiMaker PVA Removal Station dissolves PVA support material from 3D printed parts. It is designed to speed up post-processing for complex prints while reducing hands-on operator time.

How much faster can the station remove PVA supports?

The station removes PVA up to 4x faster than motionless water. High-speed water circulation helps dissolve support material more effectively, including in hard-to-reach cavities.

How does the UltiMaker PVA Removal Station dissolve supports faster than still water?

A magnetic rotor drives water circulation through the container. The moving water reaches the printed model more evenly and helps remove PVA faster than leaving a part in static water.

How much operator time does the PVA Removal Station require?

The UltiMaker PVA Removal Station can reduce operator time by up to 80%. It requires only a few minutes of attention per print, and the process starts by pressing the start button.

Can the PVA Removal Station be used for fragile 3D printed parts?

Yes. The station offers 100 or 225 RPM circulation settings so you can choose a speed based on the fragility of the part being processed.

How do you know when to change the water in the PVA Removal Station?

A saturation indicator shows when the water should be refreshed. The transparent, illuminated container also makes it easier to monitor the dissolving process and see when a part is ready.
